Clayton Maderia

Clayton Maderia is a writer, coach, and comedian with a unique ability to turn life’s hardest moments into opportunities for growth, laughter, and healing. Having survived childhood trauma and processed the profound grief throughout his life (including losing both of his parents), Clayton has spent the past decade immersed in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including expressive writing, Internal Family Systems, and group coaching to honor his pain and not run from it.

As a former member of Fit For Service (2020) and a part of the team since 2021, Clayton has had the privilege of witnessing transformative lessons within this vibrant community. Now stepping into the coach role, he brings together his lived experiences, creative expertise, and the wisdom gained from working alongside others on their healing journeys.

A graduate of The Second City in Chicago, Clayton blends the art of comedy with deep emotional exploration, using humor as a tool to navigate life’s complexities. Clayton's unique approach combines storytelling, humor, and deep inner work, making him a compelling guide for those seeking transformative personal growth (without needing to tell the world that they are a Goddess or represent the Divine Masculine).

What To Expect

What is it?

Do the hard work without the hard feelings.  In an online course of 9 classes over 11 weeks, participants will learn to rewrite their personal stories through comedy, uncovering the humor in their most challenging moments.  Members will be taught the principles of stand-up comedy, journaling, and creative exercises as tools to help them reclaim their stories and live more authentically.  The course will culminate in a three-day in-person graduation where members will meet and perform their stand-up sets on stage for the first time.

Who is it not for?

If the thought of finding humor in your stories’ pain or the identities you claim for yourself feels threatening, then this course isn’t for you. To find humor and light in the darkness, you must be open to believing in its possibility and then have the courage to seek it.

Who is it for?

Are you tired of traditional healing methods that feel heavy and overly serious?  This course is for those ready to face their stories, even the messy, painful, or complicated ones, and discover a lighter way to hold them. If you want to laugh while you learn, embrace the contradictions within yourself, and find humor in the hardest parts of life, this is your space. You don’t need to be funny—you just need to be willing.
